i always play turbos - mcuh faster. you need only a little more skill than the rest to win... and its faster over - esp. if you have onle 1 or 2hrs time...

But it's more lottery than game of skills...
I mean that somebody calls with AK, somebody just pushes All-in with 27o and board comes 45A68
Or something like that... even if You raise with QQ, somebody calls with 56 and gets two pairs or whatever. Just because he was pushed to play because of blinds...

Yup, I think most of us would agree that in super turbo there's almost 90% of game based on what cards do you get :) But sometimes, if you get monster hands you can win a lot of easy cash.

you're wrong, ofcourse if you're on a cold streak of cards there's no way to win a turbo tournament, but then again is there a way to win a regular one either? in my oppinion turbo tournaments require much more skill, because every hand is critical - 1 mistake and you're out. i like playing turbo tournaments on the internet, because a lot of people will push with 7/2o or K/To - that's just free money in little time, ofcourse sometimes they do suckout, but they can suckout in regular tournaments too. plus the competition in turbo tournaments is easier - a lot of people here are on tilt, and as one anonymous pro said once: "the biggest wins in your poker career will not be because of your own good play, but because of the mistakes that others will make".

yes i can second that.

i think of course that turbos are much more card-valued. big stack or standard games can be more position and read-based, tho. since all can get good cards in time.

in turbos you need to get lucky sometimes and win with these 73o all ins...

I agree with you partially. But in normal tournaments you have more time to wait hands and you can see flop more times because blinds aren't growing so fast

before you get drunk or after that? *g

well i think at SNGs there is no big difference, big tourneys should be 10min levels at least.
