rimvis wrote:The GT forum administrators did not say a word about password sharing for private freerolls in the past and we just ignored this issue. Lately, we had some negative comments from some of the forum members.
Is password sharing ethical? Last freeroll, our GT freeroll password was shared by one of the members as well and most of GT members did not like it. This is the same situation with other forum passwords... I'm sure they don't like it as well.
But, we don't want to make the decision without asking for your opinion first. Should we allow password sharing? Please, give your comments on this issue...
If you chose the last option, be sure to provide your ideas on how to solve this issue.
girts wrote:I'm not agree with you a bit. If you whant that a very strict closed group of people who will play this tournament then yes, do not share password. But in other hand this Poker Liberation needs more promotion and more people to participate in other freerolls or even atract them to pay money for playing. Of cource chances to win in tournaments will decrease as more and more players will participate, but then you can really show what you can.
Ramuncik wrote:Hmm.. If people will want to play in GT freerolls they will have to participate in these forums, so I think it will bring only more people in forum.
rimvis wrote:I'm not sure if everybody is on the same page right now. The passwords for GT freerolls will always be given only to our forum members since this is our forum league. Right now, I'm talking about other passwords like poker stars, full tilt, and etc... That we are not working with and some of the members get the password from somebody else and post it here... Should we allow this kind of password sharing? Poker Liberation is not considered right now.
Ramuncik wrote:I understand, but girts was talking about about GT freeroll. I'm still on my opinion that any room's private passwords shouldn't be advertising in this forum
janark wrote:I second that. I'm a big fan of respecting privacy, being honest etc. and I think it should be clear to everyone, that if a certain tourney is advertised as private, it has a password, and the password is not publicly available, then it is not to be shared. However, many simply can't understand it.
Maybe I'm a bit too rough and straightforward, but in my opinion, the people who are sharing the passwords aren't valuable members of the community and should be instantly, or latest after one warning, banned.
