Poker Dreams And Nightmares

Postby poker_james on Fri Oct 05, 2007 9:02 am

Most of us spend a lot lot time playing poker. So, does poker leave you alone at night? Do you have poker dreams or nightmares???

Last night, I dreamt that I'm playing online poker. I receive QQ before the flop and raise. My opponent re-raises and I call. The flop comes out Q J 2. Wonderfull!! I've got the highest possible set. My opponent pushed 2/3 of his stack to the middle and I'm very happy. I try to press the call button but I can't. I see the time is running out slowly but my connection is down and I can't press it... I just see how the poker room puts me as away and the opponent takes the whole stack :?:

LOL! You were dreaming what I had had happening in reality just a couple of days ago !!

Almost the exact situation! I have AK in a tournament, raise UTG and get two callers, flop comes AK2, I bet the pot (half of my remaining stack), another guy reraises and my time runs to zero right in front of my own eyes!

Hint: Don't upload big files while playing poker. At the time, I was uploading a couple of files and my upload part of internet connection was full, thus the poker software couldn't sent its information on time. (it could still receive the information, about timing out, since DSL connections have upload and download channels separate, and my download channel was empty).

Yea, you are totally correct. I always turn all my downloads off because I had such connection problems many time.

And regarding the dream, I use to dream about poker a lot. Lately, I don't play that much so this helps I guess :)

Yeah, being overly excited about my response, I forgot to answer the original question .. :)

Luckily enough, I generally don't remember my dreams after I wake up. Luckily because I don't think I could live with those enormous bad beats that would happen in my "dream-games" (they happen too often in non-dream-games anyway!), lol.

About 2 months ago I dreamed one very very crazy sick bad beat  "I played in WSOP ( ^_^ ) and in one hand I got AA , nice hand I thought . so I raised 3BB and got 1 caller. The flop was AsJsAd ,I bet pot size and my opponent instant went all-in! I thought -wow, nice double up- and called. Opponent showed KsJh.Turn Qs.River Ts." I was so shocked that I instantly woke up and couldn't go to sleep again.

Poker is all my life! I play it all day long and I'm afraid i'm forced to "play" it at night when i'm asleep!
