How Do You Play This?

Analyze poker hands and ask advice on what you should have done in a situation.

NL Holdem .25/.50 blinds.

Playing in a home game this game this situation came up. How would you play it? You are holding ATs and raise $2 before the flop. You get two callers, one of which is a maniac.

Flop 10 4 8 rainbow.

Player to your left bets $1. You raise to $4. Maniac goes all in. ($24 and all your stack.)

Player to your left folds.

Action is on you. Call or Fold?

I want to know what you guys would do?

He could have floped a set, 444,888 or TTT. Atleast I wouldn't consider calling 2$ with pocket 4's, bet if he is that crazy, he might have called.
Don't look like like he had 2 pairs... Who would call pre-flop 2$ with 48, 4T or 8T :o
Could have maybe a JQ, which would give him a straight with a 9... but...

Eh, I don't know, I think I would have folded that hand...
On the other hand, theres ~11$ in the pot, and he might want to bluff, on that weak flop... But... A bet and a raise before him... He should have something... Or he doesn't care about loosing money...

Tell the end of this hand ;)

At first I wouldnt have raised to 4BB preflop with ATs and my action would be fold after the flop.

I think you've chosen correctly. You had nothing... It was enough for him to have a pair...

The answer to your question is compeletly dependent on the range of hands he could go all in with...

I don't know if you have ever used pokerstove. If not, I would go to there website and download it. It actually gives you a real answer.

If he is capable of doing this with Ten any kicker, a draw or second pair. Your going to have to call and pay off a set and two pair.

Against a maniac easy call.
You have top pair top kicker and he`s a maniac.
